TOUR DE FRANCE: A GREEN ALE-JET ON THE PARIS PODIUM
TOUR DE FRANCE: A GREEN ALE-JET ON THE PARIS PODIUM
An italian green jersey winner after 42 years at Tour de France. He is Alessandro Petacchi, who wins the points classification as did Franco Bitossi in 1968.
A great emotion for the sprinter for Lampre-Farnese, who in the last stage (Longjumeau-Paris, 102.5 km) defended on his REGALE RACING TEAM CFX the jersey from the attacks of Hushovd and Cavendish.
Petacchi wished another joy: take a win on Champs-Élysées, but the strong rider for Htc defeated him and in Paris he is second. This result is however good to dress the green jersey on the final podium of the Tour: “I’m very excited” – says Ale-jet – “I promised to ride a great Tour, but not with the aim to win this jersey. I just wanted to take a stage. At last I won two stages and with the good work of my team I built this out standing success in the points classification. Thanks to everyone!”
