Tour de France – Stage 14: Riblon, what en exploit!
The first stage win at Tour de France for Christophe Riblon and Ag2r La Mondiale tastes like a feat. At the finish in Ax-3 Domaines, the French rider arrived indeed solo, the lone survivor of a long breakaway. That started at the beginning of this first Pyrenees stage and that had a lead up to 10 minutes.
In one of the hardest mountain stage of this Grande Boucle, Riblon, with a heroic performance together with his REGALE RACING TEAM SPECIAL EDITION, was able to resist to the final attacks of the rivals, that tried to catch him on the climbs of Port de Pailhères and Ax-3 Domaines, arriving at the finish with 54” over Menchov and Sanchez.
“This is an extraordinary day for me” – tells Cristophe with emotion – “I don’t know what to say, it’s hard to find words to describe such a victory. It’s incredible what had happened”. Really great this win, that is added to those achieved by Lampre-Farnese and Katusha. Now with Ag2r, all the teams that ride with San Marco take at least one success at this Tour de France. Congratulations to our heros!
