GIRO DI SARDEGNA: GAVAZZI WINS THE FIRST STAGE
Gavazzi doesn't miss two shoots: after having surrendered to Ginanni in Trofeo Laigueglia, today he won the 1st stage of Giro di Sardegna (Olbia-Bonorva, 144,2 km). The victory was obtained at the end of a sprint of 40 riders, preceding Gatto and Visconti. In addition to the success, the 2nd in career (the first in Gp Nurnberger 2009), Lampre-Farnese Vini's cyclists obtaine the leadership of the overall standing: “One second and one first place: a good start for this season. I'm very satisfied because, in addition to the joy for the success, there's the awareness that I worked in a good way during the winter and that's important in view of the next appointments such Tirreno-Adriatico and Vuelta Pais Basco. Last year I collected many important results but I got the victory only at the end of the season, this year I hit the success immediately: I think it could be a sign of maturity. I thanks the team that give me constant support and believe in my qualities”.
